There are many important attributes that come into play when choosing an outboard motor. We want to make the right choice and get the biggest return on our investment. We make plans to do many things while on vacation, but we know that we will be mellow, hanging out in the middle of the lake to fish, and just spending time with the kids. However, another side of us wants the quickest, strongest, most accurate custom-made rig with plenty of storage for rods, fish finders, casting decks, pedestal seats, and bait wells. The most intelligent buy that you can do in the future is to buy things which is topmost of your priorities for the different trips that you are planning to embark and also consider which are the things that you are more than willing to sacrifice. There are a large amount of good outboard boat motors that are available to potential buyers. Honda automobiles are renowned for their reliability, so the revelation that they build top of the line boat motors should be surprise. Honda's BF115 boat motors have as good a reputation as their Accord Sedans. The motor was adapted from the 2.3-liter four-cylinder Accord and weighs 496 pounds, which is heavier than other 115s, so if your boat has a lighter, shorter hull, then you may want to consider a different option. When you compare the Honda motor boat to its main competitors (Evinrude, Yamaha, Mercury, and Suzuki), you will discover the greatest perk is their quiet running and economical fuel consumption. These motore run flat-out at 106 decibels, cruise at 104, and indle at only 76; those are fifteen, two, and five decibels below the next-best outboard motors, respectively. Fuel consumption is 0.2 gallons per hour at 625rpm, 4.1 at 3500rpm and 9.0 at 5600rpm, while the other outboards perform at 0.3 - 16.0! Weighing in at a whopping 89 pounds lighter, the Yamaha F115 shares similar features with the Honda outboard motors. While achieving the same energy rating, it accelerates slightly slower and produces a little more noise. This technologically advanced four-valve per cylinder engine, with its multiport fuel injection system, has double overhead camshafts, separate throttle valves on each intake runner. The best thing about the Yamaha outboard motors is that they cost $1370 less than their almost identical Honda counterparts, making it a great deal. The Suzuki outboards are compact and efficient for a fair price. These 1.77-liter outboards have a two-stroke design similar to Evinrude and Mercury, housing comparable performance and noise. This outboard motor's weight lies between the Evinrude, at the low end, and the Mercury, at the heavy end. Suzuki's outboard motors are better than Mercury's at preventing spills because they have a 6-quart oil tank concealed beneath the engine cowling. An additional bonus is that you can choose a stainless steel prop to come with your base package, which sells for around $8934, which is a good $1,000 - $2000 below the competition. The only disadvantage is that Suzuki burns twice as much fuel as the Evinrude. Concern for the environment is the hallmark of avid boaters. Generation-X environmentalists want lakes to remain unpolluted so that fish can spawn healthily for their children's children. You'll find there are many folks who seeks ways to get in sync with innovative companies that lead the industry in energy efficiency because of it being a natural tendency. For example, Yamaha has partnered with ABB robotic technology to improve energy efficiency in their outboard motors. The painting of Yamaha's outboard motors saves at least 30 percent more energy than its competitors. Lowering dust pollution, air recirculating and eliminating paint waste, also, lowers paint drying cycle times by 40 percent and increases efficiency.
