Today, life has become hectic and thus it leaves no time for one to care for oneself. Caring for skin, which is really crucial, is ignored as whatever time you get is spent in either relaxing or winding up pending chores. It is true that skin care should not be ignored for long and it is better to care than end up spending large chunks of money in skin treatments later. There are some very easy ways, which can be practiced and continued to have soft and supple skin. Avoid sunrays It is very essential to protect your skin from the harsh rays of sun that can penetrate in the skin and damage it. These sunrays can cause wrinkles, rough and dry skin, skin tumors, tanning and liver spots. They can also hasten the ageing process in a lot of people. So, in order to escape such drastic disorders, it is always better to prevent undue exposure to the sun. To combat the extreme effects of sunrays you must: - Wear proper and protective clothing like hats with long brims, long sleeved shirts and long pants whenever you step out in the sun so that lesser areas of your body are exposed. - Avoid stepping out in the sun during high intensity hours that is between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Always use a good quality sunscreen lotion or cream when stepping outside. Avoid Smoking To Have A Good Skin It is better to quit smoking because smoking actually accelerates the rate of skin ageing and also increases wrinkles on the face. Smoking causes narrowing of blood vessels on outer layers of the skin and thereby deteriorates the skin health. This further leads to loss of skin elasticity and strength. The facial expressions that change while smoking like the squinting of eyes for keeping out the smoke and pursing of lips for inhaling can develop a lot of wrinkles. Wash The Skin Gently It is very important that you treat your skin gently when cleansing it, as harsh movements or treatment can damage it badly. To have a great and glowing skin, you must always use warm water, neither too hot, nor too cold and must restrict your bathing times. Extreme water temperatures and bathing for long, and both can reduce the amount of oils in your body, thereby make your skin dry. Also, never dry your skin harshly, but always pat it dry mildly. You should not use very strong soaps that can make your skin rough, cream based and mild soaps should be preferred. Moisturize Your Skin Regularly It is important that you moisturize your skin regularly and properly, as it is crucial to maintain the natural moisture level of the skin. It is best to consult a good dermatologist to know the exact moisture requirements of your skin before buying a moisturizer. It is so because the moisture levels depend on many factors like age, skin type and if there are acne or not. You can also opt for moisturizes that have sunscreen function as well so that you are protected from the harsh rays of sun which can possibly harm your skin.
