The most beautiful cat in the world has to be the charming gentleman known as Powder. He has been named “Princess Chunky” even though he is not a girl. The owner of this amazingly large cat has lost her home to foreclosure homes in Pennsylvania and was not identified in the story.
Powder has been weighted in at being under the Guinness Book of World Records by only two pounds. She has appeared on Regis and Kelly and the vet who examined him on air found that indeed she was a he. Powder weights an amazing 44 pounds and is a beautiful white. He was found wandering alone in the apartment complex where he lived but now he has plenty of attention with appearances and photo shoots. He even has been on Good Morning America. Powder was given to an animal control officer so no one knows just how he ended up roaming the neighborhood unattended. He now lives at the Camden County Animal Shelter.
Families who are experiencing foreclosure are finding it difficult to take in their beloved pets to other homes where they are not allowed. Not only in Pennsylvania is the stress of this problem being felt. It is resounding around the nation. The problem is getting worse as these same homeowners are leaving their animals behind to fend for themselves.
The large amount of Pennsylvania foreclosure homes are causing pet owners to give up the animals they have had for years and which they love very much. The effects of the economy is also being felt by the shelters who are experiencing less tax money because of the housing issue and getting less money to run the shelters.
