Penis implant surgery is an extreme treatment method for impotence. Impotence is something that effect's quite a large proportion of men in the world and is divided into two different categories; psychological and physical. For both cases, light treatments normally do the trick. Psychological therapies would include hypnosis, maybe combined with a few of the physical treatments such as certain types of drugs like Viagra. Yet in some of the more extreme cases where no other treatment will work, penis implant surgery is the last resort.

For the penis to become erect, blood flows into two erectile chambers, expanding the erectile tissue causing the penis to become erect. With surgery, instead of relying on the blood to cause the penis to become erect, surgical implants are placed in the two chambers instead. These make the penis hard enough for penetration and because they are hidden inside, the technique provides excellent cosmetics for the patient.

There are several different types of implants used, normally split up into two different categories; malleable (non-inflatable) and inflatable. Malleable ones cause the penis to be constantly erect. This might seem like an odd situation to be in, but what helps is that you can bend the penis into the shape you want it. For instance, when you're just walking about and want to keep it out of the way, the penis can be bent snuggly down and around to fit into your boxers, while if you want it for sex, the penis can be bent into an upward position.

The second type is inflatable implants. These provide a more natural erection by causing liquid to flow from a reservoir into the implants, thus causing them to expand. A small pump is normally used to inflate the penis, and is concealed in the scrotum along with the testicles.
