On your journey discovering how to build a pond, I am sure you have come to the realization that ponds are not exactly cheap to build. I am here to help you solve that dilemma by sharing some great ways to build a pond that looks great and doesn't burst your budget. How to Build a Pond and Save Money: 1.Find a great spot in your yard. Avoid areas under trees where leaves will fall into the pond. Another great idea is to place your cheap pond in an area where you can see it from the windows inside, or from your deck or patio. 2.Buy a small kid pool in the shape and size you want your pond to be. You can get these for less than 10 dollars, and it's a great cheat for how to build a pool easily. You can find these kiddie pools in a variety of great shapes that will make your pond look great. Some of them are fish, stars, or seashells. 3.Put the pool on the ground where you want your pond to go. Then mark around the area. Use the markings as a guide as you dig the hole for your pond. Then you simply place the kiddie pool inside. Make sure the hole is just deep enough to leave the kiddie pool lip about 1-2 inches above the ground. 4.Now get out your spray paint and paint the whole pool black and let it sit overnight to dry. 5.You can add a pump and filter to keep the water moving, and to keep it from getting stagnant. Although it is not 100% necessary, your fish will be much happier. 6.The next step in learning how to build a pond is to add a few heavy rocks around the edges of the pool. Then throw in some gravel if you want to put any plants in your pond. 7.Finally, fill the pool full of water. You are finished! You just built a beautiful pond and saved a lot of money in the process. It is not too hard to build a pond that looks great and doesn't cost too much. You can place some flat rocks around the side of the pond, and plant some great flowers around it for a stunning effect.
