Anyone who has signed up to learn a musical instrument knows lessons can be expensive. And guitar lessons in particular can be incredibly expensive! It’s usually easier to find a good teacher for violin or piano, because these are popular instruments for school kids and retirees. Private guitar lessons are much less common, and this makes them whole lot more expensive. You see, private tuition is limited by the hours in an instructor’s week, how many students they can take on, and how much money the teacher needs to make their business profitable. An average teacher probably sees 4-5 students a day, if they’re doing well, so you can see they need to charge at least $30 per half hour just to make a decent income! And if you want to be taught by someone good, you might think you have no choice but to pay up to these professionals, right?
