I almost never sent cards before and when I did they were usually late. It wasn't that I did not try to. I would go to one or two stores. Finding a card that was close to what I wanted to say. But sometimes I would get home and find I did not have any stamps. By the time I remembered, it was too late.Thanks to a friend, I found a simple solution, along with a very unexpected benefit as well. This can help you too.

One day, I received a beautiful holiday greeting card in the mail from a friend. The front of the card, had a picture picture of her family. The inside had a warm greeting that was her handwriting. I immediately called her up to thank her for the beautiful card.

After I told my friend how much receiving the card that day made me feel, she confessed how easy it really was to create the card. That it only took her a couple of minutes. She completed from the comfort of her home, without ever touching the card. But was in her handwriting.

She told me she was using an online greeting card service. I realized that sending greeting cards was the solution I was looking for. Do you have a drawer full of cards that you fully intented to mail out, but for various reasons, never did? Well I did.

So instead of adding to the collection of cards that I had, I started sending online greeting cards whenever I thought of someone who would need one. What I didn't know at the time was how much that decision would improve my relationships with other people.

One of the first greeting cards that I sent out was to my mother-in-law. The card was just a simple card, with a heartfelt message letting her know how much I cared about her. I really thought she knew how much she meant to me. I thought she would like the surprise since I rarely got the cards I purchased in the mail to her.

Actually, I was the one who received the surprise.

She called me as soon as she received the card. She was in tears. She called me to thank me for the card. She told me she knew that I cared about her, but that she really didn't understand how much until she read the card.

I really was stunned!

I tried to remember what I said in the card that would make her react the way she did.

So as soon as I hung up the phone, I quickly looked up the card I sent to see what I wrote. The card was just a simple card, with a heartfelt message letting her know how much I cared.

It was not so much what I said, but that she knew they were my words, in my handwriting, which she thought I took the time to shop for, hand write, stamp the envelope and actually get it in the mail!

Since that day, our relationship has continued to improve.

Unknowingly I found a way to improve and strengthen my relationships with other people.

The real value of sending out greeting cards is not the card itself. It is how you make people feel. People love to feel appreciated. Valued. Cared for. Don't you?

Since then, I have sent out hundreds of cards. I probably get calls on most of the cards that I mail out.

I sent out invitations for my sister-in-laws baby shower. My brother received calls from just about everyone who received the card because they really enjoyed seeing her with child, on the cover. With a little caption from the baby. My family and friends have experienced similar results as well.

You can have people calling you to thank you for the card you sent too.
